Where the garment is actually cleaned
The first split between cleaners is not the counter. It is where the garment goes after you hand it over. One model takes clothes in at a storefront and trucks them to a central plant that may be states away, then runs everything through one process at one temperature. FabriCare does not do that. The three stores are served by one company-owned cleaning plant in Greenville County, and the work is done here rather than shipped to a regional processing facility.
That matters because a wool suit, a beaded silk gown, a linen blazer, and a down comforter need different treatments. The only way to give them different treatments is to have a person look at each one and decide. The about page states the operating model: three neighborhood stores, one local plant, and pressers trained in-house. When there is a question about an order, you call the store and speak to someone who can walk to the rack and look at it.
Who trains the spotters and pressers
Cleaning gets a garment clean. Pressing is what makes it look new. FabriCare's cleaners, spotters, and pressers are trained in-house. Pressers finish on professional form-finishing and utility pressing equipment, shaping the shoulder, the lapel roll, and the sleeve head rather than flattening them. Creases are set where the garment's construction says they belong.
Stains are treated by hand at the spotting board before the cleaning cycle, by category: protein, tannin, oil, or dye. The agent that lifts red wine will drive an oil stain deeper into the fiber. Tell the counter what the stain is and roughly how old it is. The company is family owned and operated by Keith Schemm.
Ask where the garment is cleaned. FabriCare's work stays at its own Greenville County plant.
Drive-thru, hours, and the same-day cutoff
Thornblade at 405 The Parkway #600, Greer, and Woodruff Road at 185 Woodruff Rd both have a drive-thru and are open weekdays 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Augusta Road at 3008 Augusta St is a walk-in counter, open weekdays 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. All three open at 7:00 AM on weekdays, Saturday 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and are closed Sunday.
Standard dry cleaning takes two to three business days. Same-day service is available at all three locations when garments are in by 10:00 AM and ready by 5:00 PM, for an $8.95 rush fee per order. Call the store before you drive over. The same-day page spells out the cutoff. Standard dry cleaning and laundered shirts rush. Wedding gowns, leather, suede, and heavily stained garments cannot.
What free pickup and delivery actually means
Pickup and delivery is free: no fee, no minimum, and no contract. Delivery customers pay the same prices as walk-in customers. Leave the bag out by 9:00 AM on one of two weekly route days. You do not have to be home. Clean clothes come back on the next run. Details are on the pickup and delivery page.
Routes cover Greenville, Greer, Simpsonville, Mauldin, Five Forks, and Taylors. Call 864.877.7701 to confirm a street. Addresses are on the locations page.
How damage claims are handled
Ask this before you need it. FabriCare's terms say that if the company loses or damages a garment through its own error, it will make it right. Claims are settled on the garment's fair current value, taking age and condition into account, consistent with standard International Fabricare Institute guidance, up to a maximum of ten times the cleaning charge. Raise the concern within a reasonable period of collecting the order so the store can investigate while the trail is fresh. That policy is written on the terms of service. It is not a promise that every stain will come out.
If a risk is visible before cleaning, you are told and you decide. A weakness that cannot be seen on inspection, such as sun-damaged fibers or a previous home treatment, is not treated as the cleaner's error. Stains that have oxidized or been heat-set may be permanent, and treatment stops where it would risk the fabric.
Price is quoted before any work starts. Fabric, lining, pleating, beading, construction, and condition move the number. If extended stain work would change the quote, the store stops and calls first.
How FabriCare's three stores and the route fit each point
The cleaning is done at FabriCare's own plant in Greenville County. Spotters and pressers are trained in-house. The counters are Thornblade in Greer at 864.877.7701, Augusta Road at 864.558.0311, and Woodruff Road at 864.234.0036. Thornblade and Woodruff Road have the drive-thru. All three open at 7:00 AM on weekdays, before the 10:00 AM same-day cutoff.
The route is the fourth door: free, twice a week, bag out by 9:00 AM, no minimum and no contract. You do not have to be home. Ordinary garment work is on the dry cleaning page. Use the store on the drive you already make, or use the route and skip the drive.
Written by the staff of FabriCare of Greenville, a family-owned dry cleaner with three stores and its own plant in Greenville County, South Carolina. Our spotters and pressers are trained in-house, and the advice here reflects what we see across the counter every week rather than what reads well online. If you have a garment you are unsure about, call the store nearest you — inspection is free and we will tell you honestly what is possible.
